Do you convey a sense of confidence or do you communicate shyness and insecurity? We all need to pay special attention to the sense of presence we communicate, especially if we want to be accepted and taken seriously. If you want to “make it” in the media-based societies in today’s marketplace, it does not hurt to look good. Any interaction between human beings generally involves a set of mutual expectations about how the participants will behave, the “rules of engagement” so to speak. The capacity to influence, shape, or define the rules of engagement puts a person in a leadership position. To shape the rules, we need to develop an effective Presence. Physical Confidence is central to having presence.
